Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, welcomed the Foreign Ministers of the Confederation of Sahel States for a briefing on their recent activities. This meeting, held late Wednesday morning, was pivotal in aligning efforts ahead of the upcoming summit of the Confederation's Heads of State.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation was led by Mali's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Abdoulaye Diop. They reviewed the outcomes of the preparatory meeting for the forthcoming summit scheduled for December 22 and 23 in Bamako. Mr. Diop highlighted the significance of this gathering, stating, "This work is part of the preparation for the second meeting of the College of Heads of State of the Confederation."

The ministers took the opportunity to update President Traore on the execution of the AES Confederation's strategic plan, which focuses on defense, diplomacy, and development. Minister Diop outlined the diplomatic efforts, noting that the aim was for the Confederation to present a unified voice under the guidance of their leaders, seeking regional and international recognition.

President Traore encouraged the Foreign Ministers to persist in their efforts, addressing the challenges and working towards tangible actions that meet the Sahel people's aspirations.
