Ouagadougou: The Association of Former Students of Tanlili Primary School, inaugurated in 1988 in the commune of Zitenga, organized a reunion day on Sunday marked by tributes, educational activities and solidarity actions.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the association’s president, Seni Ouedraogo, stated that this initiative aims to “support school stakeholders so that education is a success.” Several former students, happy to be reunited, shared their emotion and recalled the importance of constant monitoring of children and support for teachers.
Among the highlights, a tribute was paid to Karim Sawadogo, a teacher in Tanlili from 1994 to 2001. Deeply moved, he confided that his time in the village remains “engraved as an unforgettable memory,” recalling that he introduced theatre alongside classes, an initiative much appreciated by the inhabitants.
In addition to the testimonies, the former students carried out other actions including the distribution of school kits to the best students, a reforestation session and a football match.
This reunion day helped to strengthen ties between generations and reaffirm the desire of former students to contribute to the life of their old school, a symbol of their journey and a landmark for the young people of Tanlili.
