Former Students of Apostolic School Launch Sanitation Initiative in Ouagadougou

Ouagadougou: Former students of the Apostolic School in the Gounghin district of Ouagadougou marked their participation in the national days of patriotic commitment by cleaning up the area around their former school on Saturday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative, named "Operation 15 days to change the Apostolic School," was launched by former students in collaboration with the COGES and the special delegation of the 2nd district. The aim is to give their former school a new look through various activities scheduled over a 15-day period.

The program includes a ceremony to raise the national colors, a sanitation operation, a reforestation activity, and an awareness session for current students of the Apostolic School. Salif Sanfo, the initiator of the event, emphasized the significance of the operation by stating, "This school saw us born. It is time to give back what it gave us. We want to give children hope and teach them the values of respect, order, and patriotism."

Sanfo also highlighted that high-impact actions such as securing the school and improving infrastructure are expected. The activity saw the involvement of current students from the Apostolic School, and Sanfo expressed the importance of their participation as a reminder of their role in building the future of Burkina Faso while upholding respect for teachers and hygiene practices.

Wendwaoga Jonas Sawadogo, president of the special delegation, praised the initiative by the former students and encouraged other schools in his district to emulate their efforts. The "15-day operation to change the apostolic school" follows a similar initiative, "15 days to change Remdogo," also initiated by Salif Sanfo.
