Kourweogo: The village of Napalgu©, located in the commune of Niou, was the site of a significant health initiative as it received a visit from the mobile clinic from the Oubri region. Initiated by the Fougmi Association for Development (AFOD), this event was part of the first edition of its Health for All Day, which launched at the Napalgu© Primary Health Center (CSPS). Local administrative, traditional, and religious authorities, along with technical and financial partners, were present at the event.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the theme for this year's Health for All Day was "Women's and Children's Health." The event aimed to provide free and immediate access to preventive healthcare services for women and children while promoting a culture of prevention within the local communities.
El Hadj Adama Sawadogo, Secretary General of AFOD, highlighted that the initiative aligns with national efforts to prioritize maternal and child health. He emphasized the importance of awareness and timely medical attention and thanked the partners for their support.
Sawadogo Man©, a nursing and obstetrics engineer with the Mobile Clinic team, detailed the services offered, including pediatric consultations, cancer screenings, advanced gynecological consultations, and awareness sessions on breast self-examination. Information booths on sexual and reproductive health and infant nutrition were also provided.
The mobile clinic's ability to treat precancerous lesions on-site and refer confirmed cancer cases to Ziniar© Regional Hospital was noted as a significant advantage. Saidou Ou©draogo, First Deputy to the President of the Special Delegation of the Niou Commune, commended the initiative, remarking on its support for women's and children's health.
Beneficiary Ilboudo Alizeta expressed her gratitude for the clinic's services, highlighting the access to local and free healthcare as a significant benefit for the village's women. She affirmed the community's commitment to following medical advice provided during the event.
