Ganzourgou: The High Commissioner Calls for Renewed Commitment

Ganzourgou: The monthly ceremony for raising the national colors was held this Tuesday at the high commission of Zorgho, under the chairmanship of the high commissioner of the province of Ganzourgou, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony brought together provincial directors and heads of departments, as well as staff from the High Commission and the Prefecture. The ceremony was conducted by agents of the Water and Forestry Service, in accordance with established procedures.

Speaking after the raising of the flag, the High Commissioner commended the participants for their commitment. She noted the regularity of their attendance at this monthly event dedicated to the symbols of the State.

Ms. Sorgho/Gouba placed the ceremony within the context of the first phase of the third edition of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation (JEPPC). According to her, this period calls for a strengthening of civic duty, patriotism, and a sense of collective responsibility.

She urged those involved in decentralized government to maintain their commitment to local governance. The High Commissioner reiterated that each official, as a representative of the State, plays a role in implementing government actions at the provincial level.

"The current context requires a renewed commitment from each of us," she said, before encouraging participants to remain united in the face of challenges.

The High Commissioner acknowledged the scale of the constraints, particularly in terms of resources, but stressed the need to continue efforts. "If we remain united and determined, we will be able to meet the challenges," she stated.

As part of the initiative to rotate the ceremony between departments, the event is scheduled for the first working Tuesday of May. The host department will be designated and announced at a later date.

The monthly flag-raising ceremony provides a framework for recalling republican values and strengthening cohesion between state services at the local level.
