Gaongo: The President of the special delegation of the Gaongo municipality launched the first sanitation day on Friday, April 2, 2026, in the town center. Several dozen citizens mobilized to improve their living environment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), public and private sector workers, high school students, and the populations of the 13 villages of the commune participated in the sanitation day initiated by the PDS of the commune of Gaongo, Souleymane Diallo.

The people of the town engaged in cleaning along the main road, which stretches from the police station to the Prefecture, covering a distance of 2 km. The market, the health center, and the town hall were also attended to by the day's cleaners.

The organizer stated that the cleanup efforts will extend to other departments in the coming days. At the end of the day, the PDS expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the cleanup day, which is part of the JEPPC 2026 (European Days of Public Works and Culture).

This mobilization was also an opportunity for Mr. Diallo to reiterate the message of Comrade Captain Ibrahim TRAORE.
