Gaoua Establishes Municipal School Council to Enhance Education

Poni/education: The municipality of Gaoua proceeded, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 in Gaoua, to the establishment of its municipal school council, following a general assembly held for this purpose. The ceremony was presided over by the president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Gaoua, Siaka Ouattara, in the presence of the presidents of the executive offices of the school councils of the commune, representatives of the customary and religious communities, as well as actors in the development of the rural world from the decentralized technical services.

According to Burkina Information Agency, following the elections, the executive committee of the school's municipal council was formed, consisting of five members: Sie Marcelin Kambou, elected president; Banign¨ Youl, general secretary; Gninlimine Kambire, treasurer; Dimitri L¨wa, secretary for organization and information; and Sansan Urbain Kambou, coordinator.

PDS Siaka Ouattara welcomed the Burkinabe government's vision of improving the national education system through the establishment of school councils. He noted that these bodies were created by the interministerial decree of October 30, 2025. "The establishment of school councils is strategic in educational renewal, based on efficiency, inclusion and excellence," he said.

The PDS also congratulated the participants on the quality of their contributions and on the spirit of responsibility and composure that prevailed throughout the electoral process. Furthermore, it reassured the executive office of the continued support of the municipality and all the school councils.

Mr. Ouattara also expressed his gratitude to the administrative authorities, educators, technical and financial partners, and communities for their commitment to education. He concluded by wishing everyone a wonderful rest of the year and invoking divine blessing for the success of educational activities in the municipality.

Speaking on behalf of the executive committee, the president of the school's municipal council, Sie Marcelin Kambou, expressed his gratitude to the participants for the trust they placed in his team. He requested their support and guidance in carrying out their mission for the benefit of the students in the municipality. "We ask you to support us and also to draw our attention to the fact that we stay on the right track," he stated.
