Harare: The Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Komondjari celebrated the 2025 edition of School Excellence Day on Saturday in Gay©ri, marked by the distinction of more than 60 teachers and many students for their performance and resilience.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony, celebrated at a later date, was held under the theme "For a resilient and effective education in the province of Komondjari, I commit!" and mobilized administrative and educational authorities, defense and security forces, education partners, and local populations. The prizes awarded during the event included 91 school kits, eight bicycles, computers, leather bags, dictionaries, past papers, and certificates of recognition.

During the ceremony, three teachers who had received their decorations on December 11, 2025, officially received their medals. The beneficiaries were selected based on rigorous criteria, including their academic results, involvement in educational reforms, resilience, and management of wards of the Nation or students living with a disability. The best students and teachers in the 2025 Primary School Certificate (CEP), as well as the best learners in the certification assessment and the best centre facilitators, were also recognized.

Representing the High Commissioner, the Secretary General of the province, Mr. Drissa Ou©draogo, praised the commitment of education stakeholders in a difficult security context. He emphasized that holding this event constitutes "a powerful act of resilience" and a refusal to give in to despair. He invited all stakeholders, particularly parents, to become more involved in the children's education and monitoring.

The provincial director in charge of education, Mr. Yatenyoua Lucien Ouoba, highlighted the performances recorded during the past year, with a success rate of 92.41% in the CEP and 100% in entry into sixth grade. He praised the dedication of the teachers and partners, despite often difficult working conditions.

This ceremony was also an opportunity to thank the partners and well-wishers who contributed to the organization of the event, including the sponsor of this edition and the fighting forces for their support in ensuring the continuity of educational services. The award winners expressed their gratitude to the organizers of these events and were urged to persevere in their efforts and remain role models of excellence within the province's education system.
