Gnagna Pays Tribute to Security Forces with Musical Evening

Gnagna: The Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), and the Koglweogo were celebrated on the evening of Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Bogand©, capital of the Gnagna province, in the Sirba region, during a grand musical evening initiated by Sogli Goudima and the Gnagna Com©die collective. The event was held as a sign of recognition for their commitment in the fight against insecurity and to call for peace and national unity.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the province of Gnagna resonated on Saturday evening with a musical and cultural event dedicated to the fighting forces engaged in operations. Administrative and traditional authorities, military personnel, artists, and local residents mobilized in large numbers to demonstrate their support for the forces committed to securing the territory.

The ceremony, placed under the sign of recognition and solidarity, was initiated by cultural promoter Sogli Goudima, in collaboration with Gnagna Com©die, who paid tribute to the sacrifice of the fighting forces. Sogli Goudima emphasized the need for recognition and support, urging the people of Gnagna to collectively mobilize for peace.

The ceremony's sponsor, Djingri Lankoand©, chief of the Koglweogo of Gnagna, praised the bravery and professionalism of the fighting forces. He expressed his confidence in their capability to overcome insecurity and reiterated the commitment of the Koglweogo members to work alongside the Defense and Security Forces for the complete liberation of the territory.

Taugolo Par©, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Bogand©, presided over the ceremony and praised the initiative. He called on the population to rally around the armed forces to strengthen the momentum of recognition and support for those who fight daily for the security of citizens.

Representing the High Commissioner of the province, Secretary General of the Gnagna province, Mendien dit Moussa Soma, expressed his delight at the commemorative event. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening social cohesion and collaboration between the defense forces and the population while reaffirming the administration's commitment to supporting actions promoting peace and stability in the province.

During the event, all security services present, including the BIR 19, the National Gendarmerie, the National Police, the Penitentiary Security Guard, the Water and Forestry Service, the VDP, and the Koglweogo, received certificates of recognition accompanied by fuel vouchers, as encouragement for their ongoing commitment.

The evening featured musical performances by military artists, including Dozoman and Elmano, and a skit raising awareness about peace and solidarity. A fashion show showcasing the traditional Gulmantch© loincloth also captured the audience's attention.

A fundraising campaign during the event raised 150,000 FCFA for the families of fallen soldiers, reflecting the solidarity from the people of Gnagna. This tribute conveyed a powerful message of unity and hope, demonstrating that despite security challenges, Gnagna remains committed to supporting its soldiers in the fight for peace.
