Ouagadougou: The WendPanga Simplified Cooperative Society of Gold Miners of Bam (SCOOPS/WEMOB) has donated medical equipment valued at 435,000 FCFA and provided 50,000 FCFA for ambulance fuel to the Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) of Lioudougou, located in sector 5 of Kongoussi. The gesture is aimed at enhancing patient care at the facility.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the handover ceremony was led by Karim Ouedraogo, the High Commissioner of Bam Province, with Abel Dayamba, President of the Special Delegation of Kongoussi, and Dr. Arzouma Idrissa Ouedraogo, Chief Medical Officer of the Kongoussi Health District, also in attendance. The donated items include hospital mattresses, IV poles, a large bag of powdered soap, soap balls, and baby clothes.

Adama Gansonre, president of the cooperative, stated that the donation underscores the organization's dedication to supporting local communities. He emphasized that the cooperative's proximity to the Lioudougou Health Center made this initiative a natural choice. Gansonre added that this effort aligns with President Ibrahim Traore's call for citizens to contribute to national development.

Gansonre also expressed gratitude towards the government and security forces for improving safety in the region, allowing the cooperative to resume operations in previously inaccessible areas.

Oumarou Romaric Sawadogo, head nurse at the Lioudougou CSPS, expressed appreciation for the timely donation, noting that the influx of patients has increased the need for medical equipment. He assured that the donated items will be utilized for patient benefit.

Karim Ouedraogo commended the cooperative for its dedication to social causes and encouraged continued efforts to support local communities, in line with the development goals set by the President of Burkina Faso.
