Tenkodogo:: The Wendsongda Association of Gold Miners of Barsalogho (AWOB) provided crucial support to vulnerable individuals and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in Barsalogho by donating 3.5 tons of rice, 120 liters of oil, 125 kg of sugar, and 160 blankets. This significant contribution, valued at approximately 3 million CFA francs, was presented to the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Barsalogho, Mathias Sansan Pale, to benefit vulnerable groups, including the orphans of VDPs who have fallen in service and those actively engaged in territorial defense.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Rasmane Bamogo, president of AWOB, emphasized that this initiative reflects the solidarity of gold miners with those who are making considerable sacrifices for national security. He stated, "Our goal is to support the orphans of the VDP who fell with weapons in hand and to encourage the VDP who fight day and night alongside the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) for the reconquest of the integrity of the territory."
Mr. Bamogo also urged other gold miners in the province to replicate such solidarity efforts to assist populations affected by the ongoing security crisis.
Mathias Sansan Pale, president of the special delegation of Barsalogho, expressed appreciation for this gesture, noting its alignment with the national movement for solidarity and civic responsibility.
Additionally, the traditional chief of Barsalogho, Naaba Guiguemde, acknowledged the visit and the contribution by the gold miners, expressing hope that similar organizations would emulate this example to further bolster community solidarity.
