Gon-Boussougou Medical Center Hosts Community Sanitation Day

Zoundwogo/gon-boussougou: The Gon-Boussougou Medical Center organized a sanitation day on Saturday, September 12, 2026, mobilizing health personnel and several community actors around the sanitation of the health facility.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative was led by the head of the medical center, Dr. Ferdinand Bayala, and commenced at 7 a.m. The activity involved the cleaning and weeding of the surroundings of various services, including general medicine, the laboratory, the dispensary, the maternity ward, the Screening and Treatment Center (CDT), and the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) room.

Participants worked together to enhance the appearance of the health training area, aiming to provide a cleaner and more pleasant environment for patients and staff. Dr. Ferdinand Bayala emphasized the unpredictability of disease, highlighting the importance of community involvement in maintaining the medical center to establish it as a reference health facility.

The chairman of the management committee, Wahabou Mar, commended the collective effort and teamwork displayed by the staff and community members. He expressed gratitude to all contributors, underscoring that health maintenance is a communal responsibility.

The event concluded with a call to preserve the cleanliness achieved and to continue efforts in improving the quality of care at the Gon-Boussougou Medical Centre.
