Gourma: 82 internally displaced and vulnerable girls and women from the commune of Fada N’Gourma received dignity kits on Thursday, September 25, 2025. This initiative is part of a project aimed at strengthening humanitarian aid and protection for communities affected by conflict.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the project “Strengthening humanitarian aid and protection for children and communities affected by the conflict in the East and North-Central regions” is implemented by the Christian Organization for Mutual Aid and Development (OCED) in partnership with the NGO World Vision and funded by VRF5. The project manager, Gedeon Ouedraogo, emphasized that the action aims to improve the living conditions of vulnerable individuals, focusing on women and girls.
Ernest Natama, the first vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Fada N’Gourma, presided over the delivery and praised the initiative as a hopeful solution to challenges faced by women and girls. He extended gratitude to OCED, World Vision, and their financial partner, highlighting that the kits symbolize hope, respect, and a shared commitment.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Larbapoa Dayamba expressed appreciation to the donors, noting that the kits will enhance their hygiene conditions. An awareness session on gender-based violence and child protection was conducted by Mahamoudou Diakouma Wombo from the provincial directorate of humanitarian action.
OCED has been active in the Goulmou region since June 2025, focusing efforts in Diapangou and Fada N’Gourma, including training religious and customary leaders on child protection and family management.
