The governor of the Eastern region, Ram Joseph Kafando, at the head of a strong delegation of constituted bodies, went to the royal palace yesterday Thursday to wish "a long and good reign" to his Majesty Untaanba, now recognized as the one and only king of Gulmu.Since May 2020, the kingdom of Gulmu has been going through a deep crisis born of two-headedness.However, with the recent announcement by the Ministry of Territorial Administration, which recognized His Majesty Untaanba as the one and only King of Gulmu with all the prerogatives that come with it, this crisis is now a thing of the past.Following this official recognition, a strong delegation of the constituted bodies of the Eastern region, led by Governor Ram Joseph Kafando, accompanied by the Bishop of the Diocese of Fada N'Gourma, Monsignor Pierre Claver Malgo, visited yesterday Thursday the 32nd *numbado* (king in Gulmancema) to "greet" him and wish him "a long and good reign".The administrative authority also expressed the wish that the emperor "brings together all the positive energies of the region, so that his recognition is a springboard for security, serenity and cohesion."On this subject, Minister Taadambiga Nassouri, in charge of missions at the royal court, assured that His Majesty Untaanba, descendant of the lineage of Yenkouali, is a man of peace, as indicated by his baptismal name "Untaanba", which means "unifier" in Gulmancema. He affirmed that His Majesty will spare no effort to restore cohesion between the descendants of Diaba Lompo, while supporting the dynamic of reconquest of the national territory. For the representative of the princely families, Richard Thiombiano, this happy outcome already symbolises the unity between the princes. "You can't build anything in a community without the unity of the daughters and sons," he added.Ram Joseph Kafando clarified that it is neither the victory of one camp nor the defeat of the other, but a decision based on the search for unity and cohesion in Gulmu. He congratulated Tiguié Mohamed Thiombiano, former pretender to the throne, for his greatness of spirit."I would like to salute him for accepting the government's decision, but also for his spirit of forgiveness," he added.Among the structures that have worked tirelessly for this happy outcome is the College of Dialogue and Mediation (CDM), which brings together the Catholic Church, the evangelical mission and the Muslim community.According to Monsignor Pierre Claver Malgo, the CDM ensured that there were no clashes between members of the two camps.Through the voice of his minister Taadambiga Nassouri, His Majesty Untaanba thanked the government, the CDM and all the actors who worked tirelessly to resolve the crisis.Source: Burkina Information Agency
