Fada n’gourma: The first ordinary session of the Goulmou Regional Consultation Framework (CCR) in 2025 was convened in Fada N’Gourma, where participants assessed the implementation report for Phase 3 of the Eastern Agro-Pastoral and Fisheries Potential Development Program (VALPAPE). This phase, known as the exit phase, was noted for its satisfactory results.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Governor Ram Joseph Kafando emphasized the meeting’s primary aim of reviewing the progress of Phase 3 of the VALPAPE program. The session also served to share insights, evaluate disengagement strategies, and gather proposals to ensure the sustainability of the program’s achievements.
Program monitoring and evaluation expert, Abdoulaye Ouedraogo, highlighted that Phase 3 was initiated in 2023 and is set to conclude on January 31, 2026. The phase focuses on enhancing the resilience of producers, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and their host communities. Ouedraogo explained that the phase prioritizes increasing productivity in agro-forestry, pastoral, and fisheries sectors, alongside supporting the socio-economic reintegration of IDPs and their hosts.
The third phase is budgeted at 3 billion 53 million CFA francs, with a physical implementation rate of 92.32% and financial execution rate of 89.13%. Ouedraogo noted that communicating these results is crucial for accountability to beneficiaries and for reinforcing the sustainability of the program’s efforts.
Governor Kafando commended the VALPAPE program for its dedication to enhancing the living conditions of Goulmou’s population. He urged participants to engage in constructive and actionable discussions to ensure that the session’s outcomes lead to more inclusive and resilient regional development.
