Gourma Students Urged to Embody Civic Lessons from Education Program

Seno: The High Commissioner of Gourma Province, Silas Nacanabo, presided over the closing ceremony of the first phase of the Civic and Patriotic Education (CPE) program for middle school students in Fada N'Gourma. He urged the students to translate the lessons learned into exemplary behavior.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the closing ceremony highlighted the students' commitment and recognized the civilian and military instructors' contributions. Over a six-week immersion, students, represented by Theophile Thiombiano, expressed gratitude to the administrative authorities, the Defense and Security Forces, and their instructors.

Thiombiano emphasized that the program taught them discipline, respect for authority, love of country, and a sense of duty. On behalf of his classmates, he pledged to be ambassadors of civic responsibility, committing to respect institutional rules and laws, cultivate discipline, promote peace, and uphold patriotic values.

High Commissioner Nacanabo stressed that Civic and Patriotic Education is a moral contract with the Nation. He urged students to demonstrate exemplary behavior through respect for hierarchy, adherence to state symbols, and diligence.

Statistics indicated that 15,069 middle school students, including 8,006 girls, participated in this first phase in Gourma Province. The ceremony also featured the presentation of certificates of appreciation to civilian and military instructors for their commitment to instilling values of discipline, civic responsibility, and patriotism.

The session concluded with a sense of pride and hope, as participants committed to spreading the knowledge gained within schools, families, and society.
