Gourma: Burkinabe writer T©gawend© Diri Rams¨s Pakodtogo, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Fada N'Gourma, signed his second novel entitled "From the Town Hall to the Court," a work with strong social implications that tackles the realities and often kills marital relationships.

According to Burkina Information Agency, following the publication of his first novel, "Les ©pines du miel" (The Thorns of Honey), in February 2022, the author returns with a work that shatters the idealized myth of the couple, guiding marital aspirations toward responsibility, dialogue, and a secure home. Through accessible writing and situations inspired by real-life experiences, T©gawend© Diri Rams¨s Pakodtogo invites couples to a profound introspection on their life together.

"De la mairie au tribunal" (From the Town Hall to the Courthouse) is intended as a work of prevention and guidance, addressing without flinching cases of marital deadlock, including domestic violence, repeated arguments, conflicts of interest, and the downward spirals that can lead to divorce. The author emphasizes the need to preserve human dignity and family stability, while calling for responsible solutions when cohabitation becomes a source of danger.

According to Mr. Pakodtogo, the novel aims to protect couples from certain avoidable problems by offering a clear-eyed reflection on the legal, social, and psychological consequences of uncontrolled marital conflicts. The book thus serves as a guide for couples, but also for young people aspiring to marriage.

Available at the National Library of Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou, as well as in C´te d'Ivoire and Mali, the book contributes to enriching the social debate surrounding the family, the fundamental pillar of society.
