Sanguie: A historic step towards the unity of the greater Gourounsi family was taken this Saturday in Reo. The Chief of Reo, wearing the traditional lyela loincloth, warmly welcomed his counterparts from Po, Kassou, Leo, Sissala, and Kieriba. This event mobilized a strong representation of the sons and daughters of the region and is seen as a key step towards pooling the strengths and opportunities of the Gourounsi people.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the objective is to strengthen their contribution to the country’s sustainable endogenous development option. This meeting takes on particular significance in the national context marked by the adoption, on October 30th, of the decentralization reform by the government. This reform places local authorities and populations at the heart of the country’s management and the fight against terrorism.
The process of unification in diversity is therefore considered highly relevant to addressing current challenges. Participants concluded the event by invoking the blessing of God and their ancestors upon this communion.
