Ouagadougou: The governor of the Nando region, Adama Jean-Yves B©r©, visited the two sites in R©o hosting conscripts for the compulsory patriotic immersion (IPO) session of 2026, aiming to motivate them to engage wholeheartedly in the program.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the governor inspected the conditions under which the activities were conducted and encouraged the stakeholders involved. The R©o Provincial High School and the private high school “Le Plateau” are the venues for the IPO 2026 recruits in the Sanguiprovince.
During the visit, Governor B©r© urged the conscripts to diligently follow the instructions of both civilian and military supervisors and to immerse themselves in the various modules provided. He emphasized the program’s goal of fostering a new Burkinabe identity and noted the positive changes observed among the conscripts in a short period.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the conditions of the immersion program and praised the administrative authorities, particularly the high commissioners overseeing the provincial coordination units, for ensuring a smooth operation. The R©o Provincial High School accommodates 524 conscripts, with 521 present during the visit, while the girls’ site at “Le Plateau” hosts 666 conscripts, with 596 present. The total number of conscripts stands at 1,220.
Rasmata Grace Guingan©, the provincial director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training for Sangui©, reported that the recruits have been settled in after the usual formalities and are cohabiting harmoniously. Security and health coverage are provided, and three modules have been completed. However, some challenges were noted, such as the lack of a fence at the R©o Provincial High School, which was addressed by enhancing security measures. At “Le Plateau,” a roof damaged by bad weather was swiftly repaired thanks to the founder’s commitment.
High Commissioner Talari Germaine Ouoba assured that the instructions given since the launch of the activity are being followed and reiterated the province’s commitment to seeing the immersion through to completion.
Governor B©r© clarified that pregnancy does not constitute a reason to terminate immersion, as a special regime is provided for affected conscripts.
