Kadiogo: The governor of the Kadiogo region, Abdoulaye Bassinga, officially commenced the 2026 baccalaureate session’s regional written exams on Tuesday. He called on the 38,140 candidates participating in the exams to approach the tests with calmness and confidence.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the exams see participation from 38,140 candidates, including 21,000 girls, across 144 examination boards in the Kadiogo region. At the Notre Dame de l’Immacul©e High School, Governor Bassinga, representing the government, encouraged candidates to maintain calm, assuredness, and integrity throughout the examination process. He extended his support and urged candidates to avoid any form of fraud.
Governor Bassinga also recognized the contributions of the educational community, including teachers, parents, supervisors, and security forces, in facilitating the exams. He remarked on the smooth progression of the exams and expressed hope for successful outcomes, acknowledging the efforts invested during the school year.
Dr. Denis Vimbou©, Director General of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training in Kadiogo, stated that the exam organization aligns with ongoing educational reforms, particularly the Competency-Based Approach (CBA). He highlighted the gradual improvements in exam management due to the experience of involved actors.
Dr. Vimbou© also noted an increase in female participation, crediting ongoing efforts to enhance girls’ education and retention. Additionally, he mentioned that around 800 internally displaced students have been integrated into the exam process under equal conditions.
The initial results from the first round of exams are anticipated in early July, with second-round deliberations to follow shortly thereafter.
