Goulmou: The Governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando, accompanied by members of the regional team, participated this Sunday, August 16, 2026, in a reforestation activity involving 1,300 seedlings at the National Institute for the Training of Education Personnel (INFPE) in Fada N'Gourma. Organized as part of the second edition of the mandatory patriotic immersion program, this operation allowed for the planting of 1,300 seedlings alongside conscripts.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the activity is part of the program for the second edition of the mandatory patriotic immersion (IPO) for conscripts of the National Patriotic Service (SNP). Gathered at the INFPE site in Fada N'Gourma, authorities and conscripts of the mandatory patriotic immersion jointly planted 1,300 tree seedlings, marking a significant step in their civic training journey.
Addressing those called up for mandatory patriotic immersion gathered on the ground, the Governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando, stressed the civic and political significance of this gesture which goes far beyond the preservation of the environment. For him, this act corresponds to an environmental action, but it goes far beyond that because it is the very spirit of the INFPE's mission, which is to forge new citizens for the nation.
'Like this tree that we entrust to the earth today, your commitment and our commitment to our Nation must be marked by patience, rigor and patriotism in order to grow and bear fruit. This tree must be a living witness to your passage here, to your stay and above all to your transformation,' he said. Ram Joseph Kafando also reminded those called up for mandatory patriotic immersion that this tree must be a reflection of their unwavering oath to serve and never betray the Fatherland.
The governor of the Goulmou region expressed his great satisfaction with the conduct of this second edition of mandatory patriotic immersion. He praised the discipline and high receptiveness of the conscripts in the mandatory patriotic immersion program, affirming his conviction that the values internalized during this stay will translate on the ground into exemplary behavior in service to the country.
"The goal is to ensure that this immersion results in Burkina Faso producing new citizens capable of leading the progressive and popular revolution to a successful conclusion," he stressed. Comrade Kafando, before offering his congratulations to the regional cell of Goulmou as well as to the management team for the work done daily with the youth.
