Governor of Kouls© Urges Continued Commitment to Foula-Natenga Rice-Growing Development

Korsimoro: The governor of the Kouls© region, Colonel-Major Zoewendman©go Blaise Ou©draogo, during a visit on Tuesday to the Foula-Natenga lowland rice development site in the commune of Korsimoro, urged the population to maintain their commitment to local development actions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the regional authority and its delegation participated in the compaction and rockfill work on dikes at the site. This effort is aimed at expanding the exploited area from 15 to 32 hectares through the "Tin Tan Soani" approach, which translates to "let's work together" in Gulmancema. Governor Blaise Ou©draogo praised the community's mobilization for developing this lowland and encouraged them to sustain this momentum for local development.

The regional director of Agriculture, Water and Animal and Fisheries Resources of Kouls©, Ragnimsom Serges Igor Birba, stated that the developments are intended to boost rice production and strengthen food sovereignty. He elaborated that the "Tin Tan Soani" approach is dependent on the high-intensity community labor mobilization to ensure the sustainable development of the lowlands.

Naaba Sanem, the village chief of Foula-Natenga, expressed his approval of the authorities' initiative and reassured the community of their resolve to make the development project a success.

This visit is part of the initial phase of the third edition of the Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) 2026. The event concluded with a symbolic handover of food to the producers as a gesture of support for their ongoing development efforts.
