Seno: The governor of the Liptako region, Abdoul Karim Zongo, presided over the traditional monthly ceremony of raising the national colors in Dori, attended by constituted bodies, the defense and security forces (FDS), and numerous guests. In his address, Governor Zongo expressed gratitude to the FDS and the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) for their efforts to secure and supply the localities of the region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Governor Zongo highlighted the commitment of these groups, which has helped strengthen the resilience of the population and maintain hope in a region facing challenges. He also commended local authorities and partners for their support in implementing development projects for the benefit of communities.
Governor Zongo recalled the symbolic launch of the harvest on an 83-hectare rice paddy in Dori on October 22, 2025. This initiative, led by Minister of State Ismael Sombie, is part of the national policy for agricultural recovery and aims to promote the economic integration of internally displaced persons and local producers.
He praised the results achieved on the ground, which are a collaboration between the State, producers, and development partners. The governor also mentioned the regional conference on the Confederation of Sahel States (CES) held on October 24, 2025, led by CES National Commission President Bassolma Bazie. This meeting raised awareness about the confederal project and strengthened adherence to the ideals advocated by the Alliance of Sahel States.
The November flag-raising ceremony provided a framework for review, information, and mobilization around development and social cohesion actions in the region. Governor Zongo called on all stakeholders to continue their efforts for peace and sustainable development in the Liptako region.
