Tannounyan: The Governor of the Tannounyan region, Patrice Y©y©, officially launched the written exams for the 2026 baccalaureate session on Tuesday at the Santa de Niangoloko High School, marking the beginning of the quest for the first university diploma for thousands of candidates in the region. The Governor of the Tannounyan region, Patrice Y©y©, symbolically opened the first envelope containing the subject of the French exam for series D.
According to Burkina Information Agency, a total of 4,220 candidates, including 2,074 girls and 2,146 boys, are spread across 18 examination centers throughout the region to take part in this decisive exam of their academic career. Accompanied by administrative authorities, secondary education officials, and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the Governor met with the candidates to encourage them before the start of the exams.
He encouraged them to have confidence in themselves, to believe in their abilities, and to demonstrate integrity by avoiding any form of fraud. “It was important for me to come and encourage the candidates, wish them good luck and invite them to work diligently and calmly so that our region records an excellent success rate,” said Patrice Y©y©.
The choice of the commune of Niangoloko to host the official launch ceremony was not accidental, according to the Governor. He explained that this commune now represents a symbol of resilience in the face of security challenges. ‘We chose Niangoloko because it is a symbol. This commune has experienced difficult times with terrorist attacks. Thanks to the selflessness, courage, commitment and determination of the Defense and Security Forces, the situation has been brought under control and the commune has regained the peace necessary to calmly face these trials,’ he stressed.
For the top official in the region, this presence in Niangoloko also aims to reaffirm the solidarity of the authorities towards the local populations and to demonstrate the return of stability to the commune. “We are here to reaffirm our commitment and solidarity with this population, but also to say that everything is going well in Niangoloko, that security is assured and that activities are proceeding normally,” he assured.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Patrice Y©y© offered his congratulations and thanks to all those involved in ensuring the smooth running of the exam. He particularly commended the teaching staff, the security forces, and everyone who contributed, directly or indirectly, to the successful administration of the exams. The launch of this 2026 Baccalaureate session in the Tannounya region is thus taking place under the sign of hope, resilience and collective commitment to the academic success of young people.
