Gaoua: Governor Siaka Barro congratulated the winners of the Dj´r´ at the SNC 2026 during the flag-raising ceremony in Gaoua. On the occasion of the monthly raising of the national colors at the Gaoua town hall, the governor of the Dj´r´ region, Siaka Barro, praised the performances achieved by the region during the National Culture Week (SNC) 2026 in Bobo-Dioulasso and congratulated the winners as well as all cultural actors for their contribution to the promotion and enhancement of the regional cultural heritage.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony brought together administrative, military, paramilitary, traditional, and religious authorities, as well as heads of public and private services in the region. Held under the banner of patriotism and civic engagement, it was also marked by calls for discipline, social cohesion, and the strengthening of state authority.
The president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Gaoua, Siaka Ouattara, welcomed the participants before recalling that the raising of the colors constitutes a privileged setting for gathering around republican values. He highlighted the cultural richness of the municipality and the harmonious coexistence of several communities, which he considers a major asset for living together and local development.
In his speech, Governor Siaka Barro stressed that this ceremony symbolizes the citizens' attachment to the homeland and their commitment to serving the State with loyalty, discipline, integrity, and dedication. He paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their sacrifices in favor of peace and security.
The governor also praised the strong mobilization of the population during the decentralized ceremonies and the consultation frameworks organized in the region, which helped to strengthen the dialogue between the administration and the citizens. Addressing the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution, Mr. Barro presented the Manifesto of the Popular Progressive Revolution, a document outlining the foundations and orientations of the revolution, available for 1,000 CFA francs at the governorate and in the high commissions of the region.
He also presented the book "The Great Speeches of Captain Ibrahim Traor©", which brings together the main speeches of the Head of State from September 30, 2022, to April 1, 2025, and is offered at the price of 15,000 CFA francs. He finally invited the participants to obtain these two books in order to better understand the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution and the guidelines defined by the highest authorities of the country.
