Governor Somdo Launches Mobilization for Patriotic Immersion in Kourittenga

Ouagadougou: The High Commission of Kourittenga served as the venue this Tuesday, July 14, 2026, for the flag-raising ceremony. Presided over by the Governor of the Nakamb Region, Yiy Abraham Somdo, this solemn gathering marked the start of mobilization for the organization of the mandatory patriotic immersion program, 2026 session.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the flag-raising ceremony brought together the province's constituted bodies, customary and religious authorities, heads of decentralized services, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), as well as representatives of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

The governor of the Nakamb region, Yiy Abraham Somdo, praised the commitment of the vital forces and local authorities in implementing the guidelines of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP). He announced that the launch of the mandatory patriotic immersion 2026 will be held in Koupla and urged the population and local stakeholders to actively get involved to ensure the logistical and human success of this initiative.

To support the implementation of this national program, Yiy Abraham Somdo launched the voluntary contribution campaign for the 2026 session. The regional authority stressed the need for endogenous funding to preserve the sovereignty of the initiative. "We cannot succeed in such an ambitious and sovereign program by relying on external funding," the governor insisted, inviting every citizen to contribute according to their means.

As a reminder, the mandatory patriotic immersion will take place from July 27 to August 26, 2026, throughout the entire national territory.
