Zondoma: The 'Grand Nahouri' association held a press conference on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in P´, to report on the fundraising efforts for the purchase of a generator for the P´ Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA). Of the estimated need of 22 million CFA francs, 3,017,666 CFA francs had been raised as of April 4, 2026.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA) in P´ requires a high-performance generator to ensure continuity of care and secure surgical procedures during power outages. The "Grand Nahouri" association took up this cause in 2025, appealing to the solidarity of the province's sons, daughters, friends, and partners to address this energy deficit that impacts the health of the population.
Speaking to journalists on April 4, 2026, in P´, association leaders presented the results after several months of fundraising. For an estimated need of 22 million CFA francs, 154 people responded positively, raising 3,017,666 CFA francs. The chairman of the fundraising committee, Charles Bayabou, attributed the low turnout to the community initially underestimating the cost of a good generator, resulting in lower contributions.
Mr. Bayabou praised the donors for their generosity and commitment to the community, stating that awareness campaigns will continue among key stakeholders and the entire population to ensure the success of this noble cause. The association's board reaffirmed its determination to see this effort through, emphasizing that health is priceless and can only be supported through unity and individual and collective commitment.
The president of the "Le Grand Nahouri" association, Facial Yaguibou, urged the community to trust in them by contributing to the numbers 55 69 93 93 and 03 72 96 96 to help make this dream a reality. Prior to the press conference, members of the association cleaned the P´ Medical Center (CMA) that morning.
