Grand Prix Cycliste Savane Médias: Boureima Nana faster than its competitors

AS BESSEL sprinter Boureima Nana won the 3rd Savane Médias Cycling Grand Prix in Ouagadougou on Sunday, beating Abdoulaye Rouamba (AJCK) and Souleymane Koné (RCK) in the sprint, we found on Avenue Charles De Gaulle in Ouagadougou.

The AS BESSEL Boureima Nana runner completed the 148.300km distance to be covered in 3h36mn48 seconds, an average speed of 41.042 km/h. While the peloton came together, the sprinter Nana settled the account with his competitors 100m from the finish line when he launched the first, the sprint.

He succeeds in 3 editions, after his victory last year on the same circuit of Charles De Gaulle. He pocketed the sum of 700,000 FCFA, the trophy, the yellow jersey and gadgets. For his 2nd place , Abdoulaye Rouamba wins the sum of 500,000 FCA and gadgets.

97 runners from 38 clubs in Burkina Faso were on the starting line at Boulbi (southern exit from Ouagadougou). The runners followed the bypasses of Ouagadougou, passing by the road of Fada N'Gourma, Gampéla (East) to join the crossroads of Lombila, Pabré, Kossodo (North) and return to the interchange of the East before reach Avenue Charles De Gaulle for a circuit of 4,400 km to be completed 12 times, for a total distance of 148,300 km.

The competition also concerned the ladies. It was Lamoussa Zoungrana (AS BESSEL) who won the first prize ahead of Clarisse Bilgo (ASSAT de Tema Bokin).

The Grand Prix Cycliste Savane Médias has been an initiative for two years, of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Groupe Savane Médias Aboubacar Zida alias Sidnaba. The ceremony took place under the very high patronage of the Burkinabè minister in charge of sports Aboubakar Savadogo and sponsored by the CEO of Ebomaf Mahamoudou Bonkoungou.

At the end of the competition, the animators (Gustave Taro, Jeune Premier and El Hadj Tiemtoré dit 14) handed over the sum of 50,000 FCFA to the Minister of Sports as a contribution to the peace effort. Appointment has been made for the 4th edition , next year.
