Hauts-Bassins: Malian musician Abdoulaye Diabat© donated 714,000 CFA francs this Monday in Bobo-Dioulasso as his contribution to the peace effort. This amount represents 18% of the proceeds from his concert celebrating his 50th anniversary, held on May 24 in the city of Sya.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the contribution was officially presented to the governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariama Konat©, during an audience at the governorate residence. For Abdoulaye Diabat©, this gesture is part of a civic movement to support actions for peace and social cohesion. He urged young people and his peers to do the same, in order to strengthen the momentum of national solidarity.
"It is everyone's duty to contribute to the building of peace," he added.
The governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariama Konat©, stated that the act demonstrates the strong and unwavering ties between Mali and Burkina Faso. "This gesture is proof that Mali and Burkina Faso are united and indivisible," she added before congratulating the artist on the success of his concert in the city of Sya.
The concert celebrating the artist's 50th career was held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Bobo-Dioulasso, in the presence of several artists and music lovers.
