Burkina faso: The head of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Ouessa, Nirb¨tersob Val¨re Kpoda, officially launched the sports and cultural activities of the 2025-2026 school year at the public primary school 'A' in Ouessa. The launch ceremony drew a large crowd of teachers and students who came to witness the opening of the competitions on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Val¨re Kpoda emphasized the importance of these activities in providing an environment for personal growth, joy, sharing, and exchange among students from different schools. He urged all participants, especially the players, to cultivate sportsmanship, advising them to accept defeat just as they accept victory and to play fair.
The opening match saw Haml Public Primary School "B" face off against Kolinka Public Primary School "B", with Haml "B" emerging victorious with a 2-0 win. In addition to the sporting competitions, several cultural activities are planned, including lip-syncing, traditional and modern ballet, archery, and a parade in traditional dress.
