Dakoro:Health actors, local authorities, and the residents of Dakoro, a rural commune about 30 km south of Sindou, gathered on October 3, 2026, to tackle larval breeding sites in the area as part of the National Vector Control Day.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held at the Dakoro town hall under the guidance of provincial health authorities, with Seydou Ouattara, the municipal authority representative, initiating the operation to combat mosquito breeding grounds.

Dr. Evariste Sigouinda, representing the chief medical officer of the Sindou health district, led an awareness session with local households. Discussions focused on strategies to curb mosquito proliferation and prevent malaria, highlighting the importance of destroying larval breeding sites and maintaining clean environments.

The operation's goal is to eradicate breeding sites in households and raise awareness about sanitation's role in malaria prevention. Teams, including health district representatives, local officials, and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, urged residents to eliminate stagnant water to prevent mosquito breeding.

Regular anti-larval operations are planned twice a month to enhance public awareness and improve sanitation. This initiative aims to boost community involvement in malaria prevention, relying on the commitment of households to maintain cleanliness and reduce breeding grounds.
