High Commissioner Launches National Days of Patriotic Commitment in Tuy

Tuy:The High Commissioner of the Tuy province, Issiaka Segda, officially inaugurated the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) at the Tuy Provincial High School. The event, which began on October 5, 2026, emphasizes the theme "Made in Burkina."

According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner presented a message from the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, marking the occasion as part of the third edition of JEPPC, scheduled to run from October 2 to 16, 2026.

President Traoré's message encouraged the people of Burkina Faso to consider every purchase as an act of sovereignty, promoting the slogan: "All for Made in Burkina: Let's make every purchase an act of sovereignty." He emphasized the importance of economic sovereignty by focusing on producing, processing, and consuming local Burkinabè products.

The President highlighted the challenges of dependence on imported goods, citing weak production, insufficient processing, and consumption habits as key obstacles. He pointed out advancements in the agricultural sector and advocated for increased mechanization, better hydro-agricultural infrastructure, access to inputs, and improved organization among producers.

He also stressed the need to process more raw materials within Burkina Faso to generate employment and increase income levels. President Traoré urged citizens to opt for domestic products whenever possible, suggesting that households serve at least one entirely Burkinabè meal daily and prioritize local options in food, drinks, and clothing for ceremonies.

Administration officials were encouraged to incorporate this national preference into school cafeterias, government supplies, public procurement, and other official orders. The President also condemned fraud, smuggling, speculation, hoarding, and practices favoring imported goods over local production, calling on citizens to defend economic sovereignty by producing more, processing locally, and consuming domestic products.
