His Majesty Naaba Yemde Donates Over 12 Million FCFA in Construction Supplies for ‘Faso Mebo’ Initiative

Koupela: His Majesty Naaba Yemde, the Kourt-Yir-Soaba of Koupela, marked the occasion of the Nakobo festival's 2025 edition by donating construction materials and equipment valued at over 12 million FCFA. This generous contribution, made on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Koupela, aims to support the "Faso Mebo" initiative Brigade of Kourittenga.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation is estimated at 12,709,000 FCFA and includes a cement mixer, two vibrating tables, 1,000 molds, a compactor, 20 tons of cement, 10 plastic hammers, two tons of Sikalite, 40 tons of gravel, 40 sand bins, five wheelbarrows, 60 gloves, 12 Chinese shovels, 12 trowels, 24 pickaxes, a gas stove, a filled gas bottle, a drum of diesel, a drum of gasoline, and kitchen utensils.

The presentation ceremony, held on December 6, 2025, in Koupela, was attended by notable figures including the High Commissioner of the province of Kourittenga, Moctar Ilboudo, the coordinator of the "Faso Mebo" Brigade of Nakambe, Lieutenant Abdoul Fatao Sawadogo, and representatives from the customary chieftaincy.

His Majesty Naaba Yemde expressed that the donation is a civic duty towards his nation. He emphasized the importance of selflessness and commitment, especially among the youth, to support the 'Faso Mebo' initiative for genuine local development. "It is only through a synergy of efforts, commitment, and contributions from the sons and daughters of this country that we will make Burkina Faso, particularly our province Kourittenga, a place of prosperity," he stated.
