Homeland Defense Front Urges Unity Against Terrorism in Bogand

Bogand:The Homeland Defense Front, known as 'France Must Leave,' held a public conference on Saturday focusing on citizen action for the success of the Popular Progressive Revolution. The event, under the theme 'What citizen action for the success of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP)?', aimed to rally the people of Sirba to unify and support the fight against terrorism and the restoration of peace.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference took place in the Bogand town hall's conference room, attracting traditional chiefs, administrative representatives, organization leaders, security personnel, and local residents from Gnagna. Goodima Sogli, head of the youth integration department at Liptougou town hall, moderated the meeting.

Speakers at the event underscored the importance of citizen responsibility in the Popular Progressive Revolution. They highlighted patriotism, social cohesion, discipline, and solidarity as essential values, urging citizens to actively participate in local development and security initiatives. The emphasis was on encouraging a patriotic commitment through supporting the fighting forces and maintaining social cohesion.

Elder Diayouri Robert Lankoand, speaking on behalf of His Majesty Yempaabou, commended the Homeland Defense Front's initiative, calling for a genuine patriotic awakening in the region. He stressed the need for collective mobilization to support efforts against terrorism and restore peace in Sirba.

Abdramane Mano, the regional coordinator, highlighted the challenge of achieving unity among the local population. He encouraged citizens to overcome divisions, adopt a spirit of solidarity, and recognize their crucial role in community security. He expressed confidence in the authorities to conduct a large-scale operation for the liberation of the region.

El Hadj Amidou Yarga, represented by Larba Diawari, praised the civic initiative as a means to raise awareness. He called for collaboration between local residents and national authorities to expedite the return to peace and emphasized the role of solidarity in combating terrorism.

Mendien dit Moussa Soma, Secretary General of the province, conveyed the administration's support to the organizers and participants, stressing the importance of citizen mobilization and collaboration in securing the territory.

During the conference, the Homeland Defense Front extended support to local security actors, providing 200,000 CFA francs each to the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) and the BIR 19, alongside solar streetlights. The movement plans to continue supporting organizations dedicated to the security and welfare of Sirba's people.

Concluding discussions focused on security concerns, emphasizing the need for increased involvement, community solidarity, and cooperative efforts to combat terrorism. The meeting wrapped up with calls for unity, civic engagement, and collective action toward peace and security in the region.
