Kadiogo: Horizon FM collects around one hundred bags of blood for the benefit of the FDS and VDP. Horizon FM, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS), organized a blood drive in Ouagadougou on Saturday to benefit the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) deployed in theaters of operation. Approximately 100 units of blood were collected during this initiative. The operation also aims to bolster blood supplies in health centers to meet the needs of patients in emergency situations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, radio presenters, journalists, and other radio workers participated heavily in this citizen mobilization. Horizon FM's general manager, Salifou Guigma, expressed that this action reflects the staff's desire to contribute to the availability of blood products for those in need. He indicated that the event is part of the dynamic of the call by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, for general mobilization, national solidarity, and patriotic commitment around the values of sovereignty and national unity.

This initiative is in its third edition, following previous drives organized in Koudougou and Ziniar©, as noted by the organizers. Dr. Estelle Ouattara, a general practitioner at the Ouagadougou Regional Blood Transfusion Centre, emphasized the urgent need for blood. She highlighted that health facilities treat war wounded, women of childbearing age facing pregnancy-related complications, and other patients requiring blood transfusions. "This activity helps to replenish stocks of blood products and save lives," she stated, urging more individuals to mobilize and contribute.

Radio host Amado Kabor© shared his thoughts on donating blood as an act of solidarity. He expressed satisfaction in contributing to the initiative and vowed to continue his commitment. Beyond its information mission, Horizon FM reaffirms its dedication to social and humanitarian causes.
