Ouagadougou: The Municipality of Bobo-Dioulasso has intensified its greening efforts by planting more than 500 trees on several major roads in the city from July 20 to 26, 2026, with the aim of improving the living environment of the population and strengthening environmental resilience. During the week of July 20-26, 2026, the teams of the Municipal Beautification Brigade planted 502 plants on Issa Hayatou Avenue, Revolution Boulevard, RN8 (Bama Road) and the central median of Liberty Avenue.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative aims to increase vegetation cover, beautify public spaces and contribute to the fight against the effects of climate change. Created in March 2026, the Beautification Brigade is responsible for carrying out greening and maintenance actions for green spaces within the municipal territory.

The president of the Special Municipal Delegation, Laurent Kontogom, urged residents to protect the young plants and participate in their upkeep. He believes that safeguarding the city's plant heritage is a collective responsibility essential to building a greener, more attractive, and sustainable city.
