Houet: Mac-B Inmates Mobilized For Street Paving As Part Of Faso Mªbo

Houet: Inmates From The Bobo-Dioulasso Detention And Correction Center (MAC-B) Were Mobilized This Thursday, February 5, 2026, To Contribute To The Urban Transformation Of The City's 2nd, 4th And 7th Districts, Through Road Paving Work.

According To Burkina Information Agency, This Initiative Is Part Of A Partnership Between MAC-B And The Presidential Project "Faso Mªbo", Which Aims To Involve Prisoners In Development Actions For The Benefit Of Communities.

The Director Of MAC-B, Principal Prison Security Inspector, Mr. KY Modeste Efrem, Stated That The Inmates Have Been Engaged In This Program Since June 2025. "Since June 2025, The Prisoners Were Based At The Faso Mªbo Site To Ensure The Production Of The Paving Stones. Today, This Production Phase Is Bearing Fruit And They Are Now Deployed In The Field To Lay The Paving Stones In The City Streets," He Explained.

In Total, 263 Prisoners Are Taking Part In This Operation, Supervised By Prison Staff To Ensure Safety And The Smooth Running Of The Work. The Regional Coordinator Of Faso Mªbo, Captain Elvis KAPIOKO, Stressed That This Initiative Is In Alignment With The Vision Of The President Of Faso, Who Supports The Participation Of Prisoners In National Development.

In Addition To Paving Work, These Teams Also Carry Out Handling Activities For Structures Such As SN-CITEC And ONEA, Thus Contributing To Their Social And Professional Reintegration.
