Ouagadougou:The IB Bank Burkina staff mutual organized a blood donation operation on Friday at the bank's headquarters in Ouagadougou. This initiative, conducted in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS), aims to contribute to the availability of blood products in health facilities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative seeks to support public health efforts by voluntarily mobilizing bank workers around a gesture of solidarity for people in need of blood transfusions. Moïse Kafando, a member of the Mutual's board, emphasized the importance of health in people's lives and expressed a desire to contribute to public health beyond professional activities.

The head of the collection service at the Ouagadougou Blood Transfusion Centre, Marguétou Derra/Mané, praised the initiative, highlighting the high demand for blood products in health facilities. She noted that blood is a precious resource, particularly needed in maternity and pediatric wards, as well as for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) deployed in the field.

Derra/Mané also urged the population to increase their involvement in voluntary blood donation, stressing that addressing transfusion needs is a collective responsibility. The IB Bank Burkina staff mutual fund, through this initiative, aims to promote the values of mutual support and civic responsibility, while encouraging businesses and organizations to engage in public health initiatives.
