Ibrahim Traor© Distributes 104 Billion FCFA Worth of Agricultural Equipment to Enhance Food Production

Bobo-Dioulasso: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, held a significant event on Thursday in Bobo-Dioulasso, where he handed over inputs and agro-pastoral and fishing equipment valued at 104 billion FCFA to local producers. The initiative is aimed at intensifying agricultural production and working towards the goal of achieving food self-sufficiency.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Fisheries, Commander Isma«l Sombi©, emphasized the importance of this equipment in improving yields, reducing the difficulty of agricultural work, and addressing food product availability gaps. Sombi© highlighted that this donation serves as a call to action for producers to increase their efforts in alignment with the Head of State's vision for rapid food self-sufficiency.

Commander Sombi© further assured that there is a strong commitment to maintaining the momentum necessary to make food self-sufficiency a reality, acknowledging the significant responsibility borne by the agricultural sector. The equipment is also set to enhance the capacities of agricultural mechanization brigades, which will offer free services to vulnerable communities and reduced-cost services to others.

This marks the second consecutive year that President Traor© has supported the rural sector with substantial equipment donations aimed at boosting production levels to meet the country's food needs.
