Italy: The Faso Boulgou Association Celebrates Its Cultural Night in Naples


Ouagadougou: The Faso Boulgou association celebrates its cultural night in Naples: One can leave the land of one’s ancestors, but the land of one’s ancestors never leaves us,’ said the Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Italy, Cyrille Ganou/Badolo, during the 2nd edition of the Faso Boulgou Association Night, organized in Naples, Italy, on November 1, 2025, under his high patronage.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the event brought together the Burkinabe, Italian, and other African communities around the theme: “Diaspora and patriotic commitment”. The cultural night of the Faso Boulgou association, celebrated this Saturday, November 1st in Naples, Italy’s third largest city, lived up to all its promises.



The evening, which began around 11:00 p.m. with the performance of the national anthem of Burkina Faso, was marked by strong moments of conviviality and solidarity. The association’s president, Aly Zeba, opened the evening by praising the commitment of the Burkinabe diaspora and encouraging community members to become more involved in the development of their country of origin. ‘Imagine: the sounds of guitars and balafons resonating in the heart of Italy, African rhythms dancing with the lights of the Mediterranean, and Burkinabe hearts beating as one for our beloved homeland. Tonight, we are not just guests; we are the builders of a living bridge between Italy and Burkina Faso!’ he continued, before expressing his gratitude to the ambassador for his exemplary availability and unwavering support.



Ambassador Cyrille Ganou/Badolo warmly thanked the organizers for their contribution to promoting Burkinabe culture abroad, reiterating his assertion: “One can leave the land of one’s ancestors, but the land of one’s ancestors never leaves us.” She also recalled the vision of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, which, according to her, “is clear: to love one’s country, to serve it with integrity and to contribute, through one’s skills, resources and energy, to the development and defense of the Nation.” The diplomat reassured her compatriots by reaffirming her willingness to support any initiative that promotes patriotism and strengthens solidarity.



The event’s patron, Filippo Salatiello, and godmother, Blandine Gouem, also spoke to emphasize the importance of diaspora involvement in strengthening ties between peoples and in the development of African countries. A fundraising campaign was organized to support the presidential initiative FasoMebo. Certificates of recognition were presented to the individuals and organizations that contributed to the event’s success.



The evening’s program was punctuated by high-level artistic performances. Several artists, including Wendy, the diva of Burkinabe music, set the stage ablaze with exceptional performances. According to the participants, this 2nd edition of the Faso Boulgou Cultural Night in Naples helped to strengthen ties between members of the Burkinabe diaspora in Italy and to create a space for exchanges around the values of solidarity, patriotic commitment and preservation of Burkinabe culture.
