Judicial Police Officers and Agents in Djôrô Receive Digital Investigation Training

Gaoua:The Central Brigade for Combating Cybercrime (BCLCC), in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of the National Police of Djôrô, is holding a training workshop from October 26 to 30, 2026, in Gaoua. This workshop is aimed at training judicial police officers and agents (OPJ/APJ) in online investigation techniques and the collection and processing of digital evidence.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this training is part of the second edition of the National Cybercrime Week (SNLC) 2026, centered around the theme "Cybercrime and digital threats from click to crime." The primary goal is to enhance the digital investigation capabilities of first responders.

Police Captain Samuel Nacoulma, head of the digital forensics and technology watch laboratory division at the BCLCC, stated that the training will enable participants to conduct initial digital investigation operations. These skills are essential while awaiting support from BCLCC specialists for more complex cases. Participants will also learn to collect and preserve digital evidence, which can quickly disappear, and provide technical assistance to victims of personal data breaches.

Dometamine Kambire, the technical advisor to the governor of the Djôrô region, represented the governor at the opening ceremony and praised the Ministry of Security and the BCLCC for their initiative. He emphasized the training's importance in strengthening investigators' abilities to prevent and detect cybercrime, while ensuring the collection and processing of digital evidence adheres to applicable laws.

Comrade Kambire encouraged participants to show diligence and commitment before officially declaring the training session open. Approximately thirty participants are involved in this session.
