Bamako: The justice ministers of the AES Confederation member countries began their first meeting this Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Bamako, the capital of Mali. This event marks a decisive step in the consolidation of legal and judicial cooperation within the confederation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony was chaired by Major General Abdoulaye Maiga, Prime Minister and Head of the Malian Government. The event was attended by AES ministers, a Malian government delegation, the Burkina Faso ambassador to Mali, as well as several administrative, customary, and religious authorities.
This meeting aims to propose concrete solutions and formulate strategic recommendations to strengthen the judicial integration of member countries. In his address, General Abdoulaye Maiga praised the enlightened leadership of the heads of state of the AES Confederation, which enabled the creation of this alliance. He also emphasized the importance of expanding the Confederation's areas of expertise.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to pool efforts and resources to combat threats to the confederate area. Mr. Edasso Rodrigue Bayala, Keeper of the Seals, highlighted the importance of legal and judicial rapprochement between Member States. The work, which will last two days, will result in a final communiqu©, committing each Member State to implementing the decisions adopted.
As a reminder, the AES Confederation was officially created on July 6, 2024, while its founding charter was adopted on September 16, 2024.
