Kadiogo: The Saint-Viateur School Complex in Saaba hosted an awareness session yesterday, February 26, 2026, for secondary school students, organized by the Kadiogo Regional Directorate of Youth and Employment. Civic-mindedness, patriotic commitment, citizenship, a culture of peace, and the prevention of addictive behaviors formed the core of this educational event, which was part of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session was organized within the premises of the establishment located in the commune of Saaba. It brought together students, educational supervisors, and administrative officials around a common objective: to strengthen the values of responsibility, discipline, respect, and living together among young learners.
In his opening remarks, Brother Herman Pale, of the Clerics of Saint Viator, director of the Saint-Viateur School Complex in Saaba, expressed his gratitude to the regional youth authorities for selecting his institution. He acknowledged the initiative's role in contributing to the moral and civic development of the students, who are destined to become the builders of Burkina Faso's future.
Speaking at the event, the regional director of Youth and Employment for Kadiogo, Mr. Noufe Bªbª Arnaud, invited participants to pay close attention to the various presentations and to ask questions to better understand the modules developed. He stated that the Popular Progressive Revolution is not merely a slogan, but a call for the transformation of mindsets and behaviors. The vision championed by the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, emphasizes the emergence of a youth conscious of its duties, committed to patriotic values, and engaged in defending the higher interests of the Nation.
Mr. Noufe emphasized that civic responsibility begins with small daily acts, such as respecting teachers, protecting public property, and rejecting violence and deviant practices. He highlighted the importance of building a strong and united society through these actions. Additionally, he stressed the need for young people to protect themselves against addictive behaviors, which he described as threats to individual and collective futures. He urged students to cultivate discipline, excellence, and initiative, which are essential for successful social and professional integration.
The interactive exchanges that followed the presentations allowed students to express their concerns and gain practical insights into their role in consolidating peace and social cohesion. Through this initiative, the Kadiogo Regional Directorate of Youth and Employment aims to contribute to the training of a responsible, engaged youth aware of their rights and duties.
