Kampti: The key stakeholders of the Kampti commune reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the presidential initiative 'Faso Mªbo' this Wednesday during a meeting for discussion and consultation chaired by the prefect and president of the special delegation (PDS), Massahiba Aim© Soulama. The meeting served to designate the project headquarters, define the management mechanisms, and officially launch the collection of contributions.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Sie Alexis Kambou reception hall at the Kampti town hall hosted, this Wednesday, an important meeting for discussions on the presidential initiative "Faso Mªbo", in the presence of administrative, customary and religious authorities, civil society organizations, young people, women and traders.
Presiding over the proceedings, the prefect and president of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Kampti, Massahiba Aim© Soulama, praised the strong mobilization of the population, which he described as a sign of support for the development actions undertaken for the benefit of the municipality.
He recalled that the 'Faso Mªbo' initiative aims at the rehabilitation and beautification of towns and villages in Burkina Faso through community actions of paving, sanitation and urban development.
During the discussions, the participants chose the headquarters for the initiative in Kampti. After examining three proposed sites, namely the community center, the site of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the town hall, the UNHCR site was selected due to the availability of a borehole intended to facilitate the work.
The participants also approved the establishment of a municipal steering committee under the coordination of the citizen oversight body. This committee will be responsible, among other things, for receiving donations, managing contributions, identifying paving sites, and reporting on its activities.
Its composition will include civil society organizations, traditional and religious authorities, youth, women, traders, and other key stakeholders in the community. Village development councils (VDCs) will serve as focal points in the villages.
The PDS announced that a municipal decree establishing and defining the composition of the committee will be issued in the coming days.
The meeting also marked the official launch of the collection of in-kind and cash donations to support the implementation of the initiative. Contributions include cement, sand, granite, molds, shovels, and trowels.
Pending the publication of the municipal decree, donations are being received at the Kampti town hall secretariat.
A spontaneous collection organized on site raised 90,060 CFA francs.
This consultation marks an important step in the implementation of the presidential initiative "Faso Mªbo" in Kampti.
