Kampti-galgouli: The Galgouli Border Police, responsible for controlling migration flows and committed to combating cross-border crime and trafficking while facilitating regular movement of people and goods, seized and incinerated a shipment of chicks illegally brought into the country.
According to Burkina Information Agency, during the night of February 16-17, 2026, the Galgouli Border Police Post (PPF) intercepted a shipment of four thousand chicks, packed in sixty-nine crates. The shipment was intercepted on a bypass road near the post, originating in Abengourou, C´te d'Ivoire, and was destined for Gaoua.
The cargo, owned by Kiemde Alassane, was seized following regulations concerning border control and animal health protection. This intervention is part of the mission to secure borders and prevent health risks linked to irregular imports of animal products.
After the seizure on February 17, 2026, the livestock technical services, through their focal point in Galgouli, Mr. Kienon W. Rodrigue, assisted by the head of the PPF in Galgouli, incinerated all the seized chicks. The operation was witnessed by the Galgouli land chief, representing the village CVD.
The head of the Border Police post, Mr. Sawadogo W. Hubert, commended the personnel involved for their professionalism and vigilance. He urged economic operators, transporters, and the public to adhere to regulations, noting that the importation of chicks is prohibited in Burkina Faso.
He emphasized the importance of complying with regulations to avoid penalties and expressed the determination of the Galgouli Border Police to intensify controls to preserve health security, the national economy, and territorial integrity.
