Karim Sana Launches JEPPC 2026 in Niaogho Focusing on Patriotism and Food Sovereignty

Niaogho: The commune of Niaogho was abuzz with civic duty and citizen engagement during the launch of the first phase of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC 2026). The event was highlighted by a solemn flag-raising ceremony and a strong emphasis on local consumption.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was hosted at the town hall and included administrative and municipal authorities as well as local populations who gathered to express their allegiance to national symbols. The event commenced at 7:15 a.m. with the raising of the national flag, setting the stage for a day centered on promoting civic-mindedness and patriotism.

Karim Sana, president of the Special Delegation of the commune of Niaogho, praised the significant turnout and commended participants for their unwavering dedication to civic ideals. He emphasized that these days are vital for reinforcing social cohesion and reminding every Burkinabe of their role in nation-building.

The event also featured a speech from the Head of State, which focused on food sovereignty and economic patriotism. The President of Burkina Faso urged citizens to reconsider their consumption patterns, criticizing the heavy reliance on imported goods. He pointed out that this dependency represents a subtle form of imperialism that infiltrates even their daily meals.

The President's message called for a patriotic awakening, encouraging Burkinabe to prioritize local products to support national producers and enhance the country's resources. The theme for this 3rd edition, "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism," along with the slogan "My plate, my pride," serves as a call to action for a shift in mindset.

The JEPPC 2026 aims to foster a lasting culture of grassroots civic engagement beyond the official ceremony. Local authorities urged citizens to implement these messages into tangible daily actions. Through this initiative, Niaogho aligns with the national agenda of promoting patriotism and boosting local production-a collective commitment seen as crucial for building a resilient economy and asserting Burkina Faso's sovereignty.
