Kenedougou: The provincial directorate in charge of Culture of Kenedougou organized a training workshop in pedicure and manicure from Saturday 1 to Sunday 2 November 2025 in Orodara. The event aimed to enhance the financial autonomy of vulnerable young girls. The restitution ceremony saw attendance from the High Commissioner of the province of Kenedougou, Saidou Sakira, and the regional director in charge of Culture of Guiriko, Boukary Malgoubri.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Abdoul Kader Issiaka Konvolvo, the initiative emerged due to the country’s challenging security situation. The crisis has displaced numerous individuals within the country, with women and girls being the most affected groups. This training seeks to provide them with an opportunity to become more self-reliant.
The regional director in charge of Culture of Guiriko, Boukary Malgoubri, lauded the beneficiaries’ strong mobilization. He praised their dedication and encouraged them to continue their journey towards empowerment.
In his address to the beneficiaries, the High Commissioner of the province of Kenedougou, Saidou Sakira, congratulated them and emphasized the importance of continuing their efforts. He highlighted the value of all types of work and encouraged further training to enhance their skills.
Upon completion of the training, each participant received a pedicure and manicure kit to help them start an income-generating activity. The trainer, Karidiatou Naportio Traore, and the spokesperson for the beneficiaries, Adeline Bonkoungou, expressed their gratitude to the provincial directorate in charge of Culture for this initiative, which equips these young women with valuable skills.
