Kenedougou/Samorogouan: The PDS Inaugurates a New Livestock Market Worth Nearly 50 Million FCFA to Boost the Local Economy

Kenedougou/samorogouan: The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Samorogouan, Kognan Zoumana Traore, presided over the inauguration of the new livestock market of the commune, built on a site of four hectares, at a total cost of 49,683,311 CFA francs, to boost the local economy.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the infrastructure was co-financed by the municipal budget and the Livestock Development and Pastoral Mobility Support Project (PADEMP3). It features a perimeter fence, an administrative building, a storage facility, four-stall latrines, a simplified mini-water supply system, and a loading dock.

In their remarks, stakeholders praised the completion of this project, viewing it as a catalyst for economic development in the municipality. Jo«l Dabire, the PADEMP3 project manager, highlighted that the market's construction is a significant step forward but not the ultimate goal. "The challenge, beyond speeches, is to ensure the effective animation of this space in order to make it a true hub of economic growth for the benefit of the municipality, the province, the region and Burkina Faso," he emphasized, urging stakeholders to commit to its development.

Kognan Zoumana Traore, the President of the Special Delegation, underscored the symbolic importance of the infrastructure. "This livestock market is not merely a space for commercial transactions. It embodies the dynamism of our commune, showcases our pastoral expertise, and reflects our collective ambition to build a prosperous future," he stated. Traore further encouraged stakeholders to ensure the market becomes a place of trust, where exchanges occur with transparency, dignity, and adherence to quality standards.
