Kenedougou: The National Association of Special Education Professionals (ANAPES) carried out its professional return on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in Orodara. The ceremony was presided over by the Minister in charge of Humanitarian Action, represented by the provincial director of Houet, Yazouma Alexi Do, and was placed under the patronage of the first director of the maternal hotel of Orodara, Philomene Kabore.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the start of the 2025-2026 school year for special education professionals was themed “Special education facing challenges: protecting and rebuilding for a dignified, resilient and inclusive society.” The event featured a visit to the chief of the canton, a donation of equipment to the Maternal Hotel in Orodara, the elder’s coffee, and a general assembly.
The president of the executive board of ANAPES, Valentin Ouedraogo, emphasized that this new professional year is aimed at enhancing the capacity building of the association’s members. He highlighted the importance of continuing education, consultation between professionals, and technical support.
“We want each member to be better equipped to meet the new challenges of the world of special education. This new school year is also a call for collective mobilization, because it is through unity and solidarity that we will be able to advance our mission,” he stated.
Philomene Kabore, the godmother of the event, expressed her gratitude to the organizing committee for the honor bestowed upon her. She commended ANAPES for its efforts to promote the profession of special education teachers and to strengthen cohesion among its members.
Yazouma Alexi Do, the provincial director in charge of Humanitarian Action of Houet, praised the relevance of the theme for the new school year. He noted that it reflects the current context marked by security challenges and the need for collective efforts to support vulnerable groups, including internally displaced persons and returnees.
He also stressed the importance of education as a tool for integration, resilience, and reconstruction in areas affected by crisis. The objective of this new professional year is to enhance the mobilization, training, and visibility of special education.
