K©n©dougou Province Hosts Second Edition of Patriotic Immersion Program

Abuja: The High Commissioner of the K©n©dougou province, Sadou Sakira, presided over the official launch ceremony of the second edition of the mandatory patriotic immersion on Monday, July 27, 2026, in Orodara.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this year's edition involves 1,152 conscripts distributed across two sites: 677 at the Diongolo TraorProvincial High School and 475 at the Orodara "A" and "B" schools. The event commenced with blessings from the chief of the village of Orodara, His Majesty Massa Traor©, who expressed hopes for the smooth running of the activity and the success of the participants.

High Commissioner Sadou Sakira stated that the program aims to provide a framework for civic education, focusing on enhancing values of patriotism, discipline, integrity, solidarity, and respect for the Republic's institutions among the youth. He encouraged participants to exhibit seriousness, discipline, and diligence throughout their involvement in the program.

A significant moment of the ceremony was an audio message from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, who called on the youth to foster patriotism, a sense of duty, and civic engagement to contribute to a sovereign and prosperous Burkina Faso.

The event concluded with practical demonstrations of close-order drill and weapons handling by former conscripts, followed by a symbolic tree planting to commemorate the occasion.
